Hornets Indoor Soccer -
Girls 91
(The premier Texas indoor soccer facility for Richardson, Plano, and
North Dallas)
Beth recently took several of the girls to participate in the Quickfoot
6 on 6 Tournament held at South Fork ranch. The girls came back with first
place.
Summer I - 2000
The indoor Hornets consist of players from two
several different outdoor
teams playing through the Dallas North Soccer Association. We have Hornets
(8), Purple Stars (3), Panthers (2), Jazz (1) and a few miscellaneous others thrown in.
The team is coached, managed, dictated,
etc. by Beth Fejer (Lesia's mom) and Diane Rahardja (Andrea's mom), the Hornets outdoor
coaches. The girls have moved up to the under-10 division so that they
can play on Sundays.
Other Teams
Several of the girls have also joined a team known as Samba-White that
plays in both the girls and boys divisions at Soccer Spectrum. Be sure to check out the WebPages of these
two teams.
(And thanks to Dr. Dave Turner, Hilary's
dad, for providing space on his setting me up with my
own internet server for these photos. In the
past I have always had to delete photos as I have added new ones due to
web space limitations. NOT ANY MORE, BABY!!!!!)

June
11, 2000
Lost to the Allen Stars 3-1.
June
4, 2000
Defeated the Shooting Stars.
May 23, 2000
Defeated the Dandelions 4-1. Welcome to our newest Hornets,
Laura Denney and Kelsey Collins. Kelsey scored the first goal assisted by
Laura. Dandelions answered that one ending the half 1 - 1. Offense poured
it on in the second half. Sarah scored the go ahead goal on a break away.
Then it was Laura's turn and finally Kelsey sealed the win with a goal
assisted by Sarah. Defense deserves some credit as well. Lesia, Kellye and
Logan kept the ball forward allowing the offense to pour it on. Brooke and
Kelsey shared the goalie position and were there when needed. Way to go
defense!

May 14, 2000
Defeated the Diamonds 2-0 to finish the season with the best record in the
division and winning first place. Goals were scored by Ashley and Andrea.
May 7, 2000
Defeated the Peacocks 3-1. Sarah J. scored the first goal
assisted by Lindsay W. The Peacocks quickly responded with a goal of their
own. Andrea and Lesia then poured it on and Andrea scored the second goal
assisted by Lesia, ending the half 2 - 1. Laura played goalie the entire
second half and did a great job as did the rest of the defense. Lindsay
scored the final goal of the game to clinch the win over the Peacocks.
April
30, 2000
Lost to Deep Impact 2-1.
April 16, 2000
The Hornets played a very rough team today, but rose to the
challenge and defeated Plano USA 3 - 1. Got off to a great start with
Lesia scoring the first goal assisted by Lindsay and Grace. Kellye then
moved forward and promptly scored assisted by Lesia and Andrea. We ended
the half 2 -0. Great goalie work by Brooke and Avery in the first half.
Second half we continued to play hard as did Plano USA. Laura was in the
goal and did a great job. When Laura was hurt by a high kick Brooke took
over and also excelled. The Hornets continued to play well and had many opportunities
in the second half. One was successful. Sarah J. scored the final goal
assisted by Lindsay to end the game 3 - 1. Players of the day were Laura
and Lindsay. Laura played forward in the first half and did a great job.
She then took over as goalie in the second half and continued to play
great until the other team took her out! Way to play Laura. Lindsay also
played with a lot of heart today, assisting 2 out of the three goals
today. GREAT GAME GIRLS!
April
9, 2000
Defeated Dandelions 4-0. Lindsay got the first goal off a pass or rebound
from Andrea, Lesia scored two goals off of direct free kicks, and Andrea
scored a goal off a pass from Logan from a free kick. The defense was very
strong.
March
26, 2000
Tied Deep Impact 4-4. It was a great game. The photos would be awesome
except for the fact that Deep Impact was wearing new uniforms that .......
Well, let's just say they don't photograph as well as the old orange ones.
3rd
Grade Spring Concert
So it is not soccer, but hit this link to see several of the girls
singing.
March 19, 2000
Started the new season off with a 4-0 victory over the Peacocks. The team
was assisted by new alternate players Molly, Katherine and Paige as
several players were off on spring break.

March 12, 2000
Well, sometimes the difference between winning and losing is very slight.
The Hornets and Armageddon played for the second week in a row. Last week
the game ended in a 0-0 tie. Today's game was 0-0 with less than 3 minutes
to go when Laura scored the game winner for the Hornets. (I am pretty sure
I got the photo, but you never know until I get the prints back.) Way to
play Hornets and way to play Armageddon. What a great effort by both
teams.
March 5, 2000
Tied Armageddon 0-0. Player of the game was Brooke who played the entire
first half in goal and kept the Hornets in the game with save after save.
February 27, 2000
Defeated Frisco Flame 6-0. Doug got some nice shots.
February 20, 2000
Lost to Texas Heat 5-0.
February 4, 2000
Lost to Deep Impact 3-1 in a close game. As many of the Hornets' games
seem to go, the girls were tied 1-1until late in the game but seemed to
get a little tired at the end.
January 30, 2000
Defeated Plano USA 3-0. Kellye scored all three goals.
January 23, 2000
Lost to the Little Blues approximately 7-2. Hornets played the Little
Blues tough until late in the last period when Little Blues scored three
quick goals. I am rethinking using Sam's as my photo processor. They are
very inexpensive but they ruined yet another roll of photos. See for
yourself on my second roll of shots.
January 16, 2000
Started the new season off with a wonderful effort defeating McKinney GPS
1-0. The goal was another real nice one scored by Laura off a great pass by
Sarah J. off the wall in front of the goal. The Hornets got a wonderful
effort from all of the players. I am particularly excited about the new
season because our new players, Sarah and Katherine, are awesome.
Photos - 1999 Winter I Session
January 13, 2000
Defeated Plano USA 4-0 in the final game of the Winter I season. Lindsay
and Kelley each scored goals in the first half and Logan had two in the
second half. The girls are really improving as all four of the goals
scored today were the result of great passing and positioning. The defense
was also particularly strong. (Logan was awesome on both sides of the
field.)
January 2, 2000
Lost to Armageddon 3-1. The Hornets were ahead 1-0 until quite late in the
game, when Armageddon just wore them down. This was the best game I have
ever seen the Hornets play.
December 19, 1999
Christmas came early for the Hornets as they defeated Texas Heat 1-0.
Texas Heat only had 6 players so they were shorthanded and had to play the
entire game with no subs. They did not sulk at all. They just went on the
field and played. Boy howdy, were they ever good sports.
December 12, 1999
Lost to Dynamite 6-2.
December 5, 1999
Lost to the Stars approximately 5-1.
December 3, 1999
Defeated Plano USA 4-2. No photos. I was off with Alex.
November 21, 1999
Lost to the Fireballs approximately 7-1.
November 14, 1999
Lost the season opener 4-3 to the Dandelions. Goals were scored by Ashley,
Lindsey, and Lesia. Sorry, no photos. I was at football practice with Alex.

November
07, 1999
Finished the season with a 2-1 victory over the Sting Rays. What a nail biter.
October 31, 1999 v. Stars
Lost to the Stars 4-0. These photos appear to be sharper than normal. Did
Soccer Spectrum replace their lights? Perhaps the game was played at the
optimal time of the day. (What time was it? Yes, even though it is
indoors, the light coming through the front doors is very helpful.)
October
24, 1999 v Dynamite
Lost to Dynamite 3-1. I took quite a few photos, however the game started
at 6:54pm so I did not get any help from the daylight coming through the
front doors. I am looking forward to seeing how these photos come out.
Also, for the first time ever in games at Soccer Spectrum, a new first
time referee would not allow me to take photos from the penalty box. This severely
limited by view of the goal on the girls side of the field.
October
17, 1999 v. Deep
Impact
Hornets lost 6-0.
October
10, 1999 v. Armageddon
Played our first game in the under-10 division and lost to
Armageddon 4-1. The Hornets were only down 1-0 at the half, but with only
9 players at the game fatigue sort of took over in the second half.

September 18, 1999
Defeated Tornadoes 6-2.
September 18, 1999
Lost to Dynamite 4-1.
Dallas
Sidekicks Tournament - September 12, 1999
The Hornets once again played in the annual Dallas Sidekicks tournament at
Reunion Arena. They played in the under 10 division which made it tough.
However, the girls were able to win 3 games and tie another. It was a
great time. The lighting at Reunion is also great so the photographer
liked it. (Even if 1/2 of the lights were turned off.) The Mesquite
Rockets were also playing in the tournament so I got a few photos from
some of their games. Stay tuned for the photos of Hilary's header goal.
September
11, 1999
Defeated the Wildcats 5-2. I was only at the first half so I only got a
few photos. Plus they are missing some lights at Soccer Spectrum and my
photos are coming out somewhat dark.
August 28, 1999
Lost to Dynamite 4-0. Went to this game and got photos. Guess I went to
the wrong game. Beth gave her weekly press conference after the game and
had these comments.
(Hit the link to read Beth's comments.)
August 28, 1999
Defeated the Fireballs 4-1. I was not at this game so no photos. (Had to
pick up Alex's football gear.)
August 21, 1999
Defeated the Tigers 7-0. I continue to be amazed at how much easier it is
to take photos if the Hornets are not losing.
August
7, 1999
Started the Summer II session against the Rockets. The girls lost 9-0 but
settled down and played better defense in the second half.
Check out Doug's photo's from Andrea's brother James' games at Doug's
Unofficial Storm Soccer Photo Page.
Summer I Session
August 3. 1999
Lost a close game 3-1 to the Sting Rays. The score was 1-1 until late in
the game when the Sting Rays got two nice break-away goals.
July 24, 1999
Lost to the Rockets 6-0. Stay tuned for a few photos. I continue to be
amazed at how difficult it is for me to take photos when the girls are
losing or in a close game. Looks like the Hornets will play the Sting Rays
in the consolation game next week.
July 16, 1999
Had a very nice 2-1 victory against a very aggressive (nice way to put it)
Stingrays team. Lesia got the first goal off a penalty kick after the
Stingrays recorded their 6th foul. (I never knew the rule existed. But then
again, I never thought it was possible to commit 6 fouls.) Laura scored the
second goal off a pass from Hilary. It was a nice victory since the Hornets
were very short-handed. The Stingrays only goal came when one of our players
was on the bench recovering from being punched in the stomach. It was a
nasty game.
June 26, 1999
Scored many goals against the Cheetahs.
June 19, 1999
Lost to the Dandelions 3-2. Both goals were scored by Andrea. I had a very
bad photo day. I was experimenting with Fugi 1600 speed film. Several folks
told me it was lousy film but I wanted to try it. It is lousy film.
June 12, 1999
Scored several goals against the Hawks. I splurged and took my photos to have them 1
hour developed. Check the website on Saturday or Sunday night to see the photos.
June 3, 1999
The new Hornets team starts out the season with a 5-0 victory over the Peacocks. Goals
were scored by Kellye (3), Dana and Andrea. (Please let me know if I have gotten the goals
incorrect. I thought Dana had two goals.)
