Fountain Hotel and Bath House - 1920 |
 |
"Have been here more than one
week. Scout about the stores in the mornings and bathe afternoons. AM
spent exploring the town. (?) Many beautiful homes and ___________. The
trees are very stately oaks and maples, ash and pines. Took a yacht ride
down Clinton River into Lake St. Clair and landed at an Island called New
Club. It was a delightful trip from 2 to 6 and all for $1.00. It rained
some but a beautiful ________ on the lake made me happy. The scent of the
sweet grass (?). I shall always connect with this trip to "The
Flats." Mt. Clemens smells like sulphur - disagreeable. " |
