For the camera buffs out there I was using a Nikon D3 camera and a Nikon 80-400 vr zoom lens in the first half. I had the sensor area set to DX mode. In the second half I used another Nikon D3 with the Nikon 200-500 vr lens in FX mode. In both halves I had the camera set to shutter priority at 1/800th of a second. The skies were overcast which is perfect for outdoor sports photography. (Photographers hate sunlight, particularly at noon. Shadows are a photographer's enemy.)
