The question is: are the photos taken in the first half in any way sharper, better, etc than normal? I think the answer is somewhere between maybe and yes. It is always critical in photography to keep the camera steady (hence the reason professional photographers try to use a tripod whenever possible.) The problem of camera shake is exaggerated when using long lenses and in low light (sound familiar?) I do not have particularly steady hands. So, I tried something different. I hooked up an electronic cord to my camera so that I would not have my right hand on the camera when I hit the shutter switch. So, if my finger is not pushing down on the camera to hit the shutter, perhaps the camera would hold steadier and the photos might be slightly sharper. Problem is, it is more difficult to hold everything and I missed some shots along the way. So, let's compare the first half shots with those taken the old fashioned way in the second half. I think the ones from the first half may look better.
