For you photo buffs out there, I have been using two different setups for the volleyball games. While standing on the gym floor I use a Nikon D3 along with a Nikon 70-200 f2.8 AFS VR lens. (VR = Vibration Reduction.) Something that took me a long time to figure out was that you get much better results in sports photography by turning the VR off. When shooting from the second floor I use a Nikon D300 and an antiquated Nikon 80-200 AFS lens. In both cases I have the cameras set to shutter priority at 1/320 second and ISO set to AUTO. The UTD gym gives my camera all sorts of fits because the light coming from the lights on the ceiling is one color and then it hits the wooden floor and is reflected back in another color. So, I do quite a bit of color correcting in Photoshop before the images make it to my web site.
