Since I am a very slow learner I need to write a memo to myself. Self: Next year don't eat at the banquet. Walk around and take photographs of the folks sitting around the tables.

Memo #2: Pay attention to the black velvet background. In these situations switch the camera from matrix metering to spot metering. (Otherwise the black velvet is perfectly exposed and the people standing in front are over exposed. While these cameras are smart, they're just not that smart.)

"Ok Doug, I forgot. Did you want the right hand holding the trophy ........."

The handshake needs a little work.
