First, my important photography issues. My great photo tool-toy
-
my Nikon D100 - is off to Nikon Land to have new software installed in it. So, I
pulled out my 3 year old Nikon F5 and shot photographs the old fashioned way.
Yuk. Shot about a roll and on half, say 50 photos, instead of my now usual 300+
per game. Cost of 2 rolls of film plus processing = about $30. Yes, my new
digital camera has perhaps already paid for itself. By the way, when I bought
the $2,000 F5 three years ago I actually thought it would be the last camera I
would ever buy. Well, it is no doubt the last film camera I will ever buy. I am
now certain I will continue to buy new digital cameras as they are released.
Nikon is promising a big announcement on February 18, 2003. (Please don't tell
Beth.)
Second, my photo scanner has gone on the blink. I have been using it for 4.5 years so you can't expect it to last forever. So, these photos look pretty bad. It is mostly the result of the scanner as the prints do not look half bad.
Now the soccer news. Well, the last time T.West played Inter-White they jumped out to a 1-0 lead. Then, one of their players broke her arm and T.West came back in the second half and scored two goals to win the game. Today's game was played under very ugly cold and windy conditions and no Inter players broke their arms. The game ended in a 1-1 tie after Inter again jumped to an early lead and T.West was able to score in the second half. Inter-White had the huge wind advantage in the first half and T.West had it the second half. I should have stayed home. (If I can find some time I will rescan these photos using the scanner at my office. These are horrible)
UPDATE FEBRUARY 18, 2003: It turns out
that Texans West had a player suffer a broken arm in this game. See my comments
below. Soccer is an incredibly stupid game.
