(Pssst. I'll let you in on a little secret. This is my favorite photo of the
bunch. Don't know who these folks are but the photo reflects the festive
atmosphere of the entire day. It was great fun.)
(And all those touchdowns didn't hurt either.)
I guess if I live to be 100 I will always remember following John Jaggers and
his son Richard in my car with my then first or second grade son Alex on our way to
Camp Classen for our first Indian Guides campout. We all knew to get off at exit
51 but none of us knew were the camp was. It took us a while to find it. Alex
kept asking me if we were lost. I am sure I told him that we were not lost but
that Mr. Jaggers sure appeared to be. From that day on I don't think Alex has ever
thought I knew where I was going or what I was doing, or what ............
And on that same campout Chief Big Chief dad John Tiholiz bought a new
portable refrigerator to keep all the hot dogs and hamburgers cold. Except Super
Big Chief plugged it in the wrong way and so it warmed everything instead of cooling it.
All the meat was spoiled. But, we survived after a pretty good laugh. (This
has been a fun ride.)
And another thing. This is something wives just never seem to understand. There is a big difference between not knowing where you are going and being lost. Real men don't get lost, we just don't know where we are going.
