Robert Lewis Brown, 42, a resident of Mount Clemens, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999 as a result of an auto accident. He was born Feb. 6, 1957 in Detroit.
Mr. Brown was a 1975 graduate of Mount Clemens High School and later graduated from Palm Beach County Junior College Police Academy in Florida. For the past eight years he served as a police officer in Dryden, where he was honored four times by Mothers Against Drunk Driving for arresting the highest number of drunk drivers. He was previously employed for three years in Oxford and he also served as an officer in Palm Beach County, Fla. He was an active volunteer in the community and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Family said he was a dedicated family man and police officer, as well as a gifted athlete and avid sportsman.
He is survived by his mother, Sigrid Brown of Mount Clemens; brothers, Keith of Mount Clemens and his twin brother, Sgt. James (Cheryl) Brown of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; sister, Jane (Mike) Ethier of Clinton Township and nephew, Patrick Politano of Detroit. He was predeceased by his father, Guy L. Brown Jr. and sister, Nancy Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, 168 Cass, Mount Clemens with the Rev, Stanley McAnelly III officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton Township. Visitation is 2-9 p.m. today and 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday at Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main Street, Mount Clemens. Additional visitation is 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may go to First Presbyterian Church or Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
